What Sensor Is Used For Marble Sorter

Pressing the first button will then start the calibration.
What sensor is used for marble sorter. To calibrate you must place ten marbles in the machine starting with a black marble and alternating in color. Two arms serve as a sorter after the marbles are read by the sensor. Marbles we used this to be an example of what the recycled machine sorter would mimick. The first button is used to calibrate the light sensor for the current lighting.
Vex tank treads with dividers serve as the rotor that allows only a marble at a time to exit the hopper and enter the sensor region. Pusher pushes the marble down to the sorting arm after the marbles are read by the sensor. Can be easily modified to sort different colours created as a year 11 engineering project. Wood metal and acrylic.
Our final product was able to sort 40 out of 45 marbles which is the second highest score as of our presentation. We really only had two options to accomplish the task of determining marble type which were either a light and light sensor combination or a line follower. The second button is used to start sorting marbles which are placed in the machine in random order. An autonomous marble sorter which raises marbles to a height then separates based on type glass or metallic and colour white yellow and black.
As a group we accomplished our objective very successfully because we solved the problem while following all of the constraints. It sorts the marbles via a light sensor and three different servos. D5 is used to set the storage selector servo in the right position depending on the outcome of the color sensor and it sets the hand pointer servo to point to the detected marble color on the front of the machine. The program language was robotc.
Two of my friends and i made this marble sorter for our principles of engineering class. The sensor values would never stay the same. For our marble sorter we determined that the method of determining the type of marble that we wished to use involved mounting a line follower above the marble track. If the machine could be recreated it would include some way to sort marbles physically for example the smaller ones would fall through a hole and a line follower would be used because it has a greater range of values and might be more accurate.
